     Gap fillers

Gaps and cracks sealant or a sealastic based product can be very useful in helping to seal slight gaps in timber, especially if it is flexible.

     Under floor batts

Underfloors can typically be insulated with R1.5 Batts. Existing houses can be insulated under-floor with a range of products, but acousti-Therm should be considered when insulating between floors of mutli levels.

Batts for Underfloors: Batts for Underfloors:

The floor is typically not an area many people usually consider for insulation, but it is an area that can account for 10-20% of heating and cooling loss. Suspended timber floors can be insulated with reflective foil laminates, batts or a combination of both. You can also insulate the floor between levels of a multi-storey home to reduce noise transfer.

It’s always best to install insulation in your home at the time of construction, and for your floors this rule is no different. However, existing homes can easily have insulation installed under suspended timber floors if there is adequate space to do so.

What should you use?

Cosyfloor Cosyfloor

Insulco Cosyfloor is an innovative insulation product made from polyester fibres formed into a blanket to create a premium under floor insulation. Cosyfloor possesses both acoustic and thermal properties.

Acousti-Therm Acousti-Therm

Acousti-Therm Batts are manufactured from premium, high density glasswool. Their high-density nature means that they provide excellent acoustic and thermal performance making your home comfortably quiet

Installing acoustic insulation in your floors is ideal to give you control over the level of unwanted noise transference between floors of a multi-storey home.

Glasswool Wall Batts Glasswool Wall batts

Wall batts with a rating of between R1.5~R2.0 (as our wall batts are) helps to reduce noise and draft entry on ground floor applications. Dampness is not a problem as our batts are water repellant and have been treated with a stiffner to prevent any sagging.
