R Values:
R Values are the measure of the transfer of heat through insulation. If you have a batt of R2.5 it will break down, transfering heat through the batt quicker, as apposed to a batt of an R4.0 or higher. So the higher the R Value, the better the benifit for your comfort and energy saving.
Product BCA:
The products we use all met the Building Code of Australia (BCA) requirements and comply with the insulation product standard AS/NZS4859.1.
Application:
All batts are pre~cut to fit between wall studs and ceiling joists in 99% of domestic applications. They provide high thermal insulation performance for year round comfort. An extensive range of R rated batts are available to suit any type of building design or climate conditions, as recomended in Australian Standard AS2627.1. With correct fitting, they can effectively reduce heating and cooling energy costs by up to 50%. helping to reduce the 'greenhouse effect' and save the environment.
Fire Resistance:
Early Fire Hazard Tests results, in accordance with AS1530.3 they showed that Our ratings were as follows:
Ignitability Index =0
Spread of flame =0
Heat Evolved =0
Smoke Developed =0~1
Temperature Range:
Ranging from sub Zero temperatures to a maximum of 350 degrees C.
Moisture Resistance:
Fat Batts absorb less than 0.2% moisture by volume when exposed to environmental conditions of 50 Degrees C and 95% relative humidity for four days.
Infestation:
Does not harbour, nor sustain the growth of, and is resistant to fungi, bacteria and vermon.
Alkalinity:
When tested for Alkalinity in accordance with AS3958.5, the result was: pH 6.9 (7 is neutral)
Corrosion Resistance:
Thes products do not cause or accelerate corrosion with steel, copper or alluminium.
Dimensional Stability:
Fat Batts do not alter in dimension when subject to temperatures generally found in building systems. Result: Stable.
Capillarity:
Glasswool batts were found 'Negligible after 24 hours' when stood on end in a container of water.
Quality Assurance:
Insulco glasswool products are manufactured using premium grade raw materials to produce quality products in accordance with international Quality Assurance Standards ISO9002. Fat Batts also meet the BCA requirement of compliance with AS/NZS 4859.1.
Warranty:
Fat Batts are guaranteed to perform to the insulation product standard AS.NZS 4859.1 for the lifetime of the building, when installed in accordance with AS3999.
